Authors are asked to submit a short biographical note (institutional affiliation, research interests, and relevant credentials) alongside the manuscript, for editorial and publication purposes.
Citation and Reference Style
AJHMS follows the author-date system of the APA 7th edition for both in-text citations and the reference list.
In-text citation
- Citations are parenthetical and correspond to entries in the reference list.
- Include the author’s name in the citation only if authorship is not already clear from the surrounding text; otherwise, the year and page number are sufficient.
- Direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks.
Example:
We think that “in order to explain the basis of the case for the equality of animals, it will be helpful to start with an examination of the case for the equality of women” (Singer 1975, 1).
This position is what Singer emphasized as the idea of “the rights of animals” (1975, 1).
For multiple authors, separate names with a comma and use a comma before the page number. Separate multiple citations within the same parentheses with a semicolon. Where an author has multiple works published in the same year, distinguish them alphabetically (e.g., 1975a; 1975b).
Reference list
All sources cited in-text must appear in the reference list, formatted according to APA 7th edition, with two-line spacing before each entry.
Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) and Citation
Upon publication, each article is assigned a DOI and a recommended citation format, provided in a footnote linked to the corresponding author’s name. Example format:
Author, A. (Year). Title of the article. ASEAN Journal of Humanities and Multidisciplinary Studies, Volume(Issue), page range. https://doi.org/[DOI]
